Winter 2013

We survived January.  Emma was sick when I wrote my last post and has been sick on and off since then.  January was rough!  But we made it through though.

Hannah's birthday was this week.  I can't believe she's three years old!  How time flies.  Since it was the middle of the week, we sang to her Tuesday morning and let her blow out candles on her muffin.  We gave her a Rapunzel card that sang and lit up.  She LOVED it.  (She and Laura have an obsession with singing cards.)  It turned into a crown, and she of course wore it to school that day.  We also left icecream for her class for their afternoon snack.  I think she had a fun day.  This weekend, we are having a play date and having cake and presents.  I think she will enjoy the weekend too.  She is so incredibly awnry.  She is in a class of all boys, which is our theory as to why she is still obsessed with butts and poop.  Boys are gross...right? :)  Her favorite shows, which she watches on iPad are Doc McStuffins and Bo on the Go, for the moment anyway. Laura still prefers My Little Pony, but she is starting to try Jem and Transformers - a blast from my past.

Laura is such a big girl these days!  Sometimes it amazes me what she observes and understands.  I'm not sure that I was that aware of my surroundings at that age.  I'm also not sure if this is good or bad.  Nevertheless, it is.  We have sent in her application to kindergarten.  Now we just have to wait to see if she gets accepted.  If she does, she will go five days a week, full days.  I think she will be fine, since she has been in daycare her whole life.  She is more and more enthralled with anything art.  She draws, paints, or colors constantly.  She takes short breaks to play with my little ponies or barbies.  But certainly the majority of her time is spent doing something art related.

Little Emma is crawling like crazy now.  She crawls like a crab.  She uses one foot to move her forward and drags the other one.  As a result she is getting a little callous on her dragging foot.  She loves being mobile now.  Hannah crawls around with her, and Emma just squeals with excitement when she thinks Hannah is chasing her.  She is also pulling up on everything.  Matt and I are pretty much following her non-stop these days.  No sitting anymore! She in uninterested in her toys, and constantly is in search of something that isn't hers or that she can't have.  I call her "hunter baby."  The best is when we pick her up for school in the evening.  She squeals and kicks frantically when she sees us.  It is the cutest thing!  Then when her sisters walk in the room, she does it again.  She absolutely adores her sisters.  She can't wait to see them when she wakes up in the morning and in the evening when we pick them up from school.
