OSU/Michigan 2009

I hope everyone enjoyed the game on Saturday. We certainly did. We went up to Bucyrus. This is a picture of Laura on Friday just before we headed to daycare. Our little Bandie!

Now we are preparing for the Thanksgiving weekend. Gobble Gobble. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Laura turns 2!

I can't believe that we have a two year old. That is what Matt and I keep telling each other. Two years has flown by. We had a party for her last weekend. We had it at the Holiday Inn in Hilliard. I made her a Nemo cake. She had a great time. Of course we had the game on TV too. So I think fun was had by all. She has been enjoying her new toys this week. If her party was any indication, Christmas is going to be so fun this year. Her actual birthday was Wednesday, and I took her to the dr for her check up to get her shots. So fun :) She actually did pretty well though. My baby is a little girl now!

Halloween 2009

Laura was Cinderella for Halloween. Matt made a carriage for her out of wagon. She loved walking around the neighborhood with people paying attention to her. She had a great time Trick or Treating. Then on Saturday we went to Boo at the Zoo with the Moores. Laura and Maddie were a little disappointed that we couldn't find any monkeys outside, but they loved the elephants and the aquarium. It was a fun Halloween this year!

Long Time, No Post...

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to our blog. I haven't posted all summer. Time just got away from us. But here what's going on with us. We went on two vacations this summer, one to Kelley's Island for a week and one to Hilton Head for a week. Both were awesome. We have been to three football games this fall. The most fun game was our roadtrip to Indiana with the Thresses. And probably the most exciting news is that Laura is going to be a big sister. We are expecting our second daughter in February. Those are the highlights. Some other small changes...we have tried to move Laura into her big girl room, with limited success. She usually wakes up crying about forty times a night. We are also working on our basement - semi finishing it. We are trying to get that done before Christmas. We have a ton of work to do on it yet. Matt and I are both doing well. Just livin' the dream! Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

The end of TV as we know it...

It is a sad day in our household. Matt can no longer watch "Family Guy" while Laura is in the room. She is now using the phrase "Oh crap." on a regular basis. This video is of Laura and her friend Avery Childress. We cooked out with the Childresses this weekend. It was a great time!

Birthday weekend

Two weekends ago, we went to Southeast Ohio to celebrate two of Laura's cousin's birthday. Her cousin, Chelsea, celebrated her 17th birthday, and her cousin, Tammra, celebrated her 1st birthday. We ate cake, flew kites, and played at the park!

I'm finally writing a new post!!! I know - it has been almost a month! I have so many things to share. We did cousins' birthdays two weekends ago, and we enjoyed a couple of cookouts for Memorial Day. I am going to post a couple of pics from last weekend. But I have some super cute ones that are on Matt's computer from the birthday parties that I will try to get up this weekend. The ones I am putting up today are of Laura doing dishes with my mom. I hope she still wants to do dishes and clean as a teenager! I hope everyone is doing well. We are doing great. Laura has adjusted well to the toddler room at daycare. She loves being with the older kids and playing outside everyday. We have also been trying to get all of our planting done around the house. We have most of it done. We still have a few more beds to plant though, and then we have to put down mulch. I'm so happy summer is here!!

New Trike

Matt bought Laura a new trike last weekend. She loves it. It is one that you can push from behind too, so of course, she like to push it around. Matt bought a helmet for her to wear too. Even when she was done playing with her trike, she would not let us take off her helmet. She wore it all day!!!

We also had a major victory a week ago Thursday. We are finally done with bottles!!! For anyone to whom I have not complained about this, she was stuck drinking bottles of water at night for the longest time. I could not get her broken of it. Well, finally we did it! And she is doing so good! It was such a relief.

Here are some pics of her with her trike.

Spring Football!

In honor of The Spring Game (this Saturday), I have decided to hack Marie's blog with a new background. Actually, I wanted to see if I could do this, the Spring Game just gave me a topic!

It seems it has worked out nicely!

Egg Hunting

Easter egg hunting was officially a success. Laura loved it. She hunted eggs with her cousins, Ryan, Tayvian, and Brynna at Ellen's house. Once she had her basket full, she would not give up her basket for anything. I had to sneak a couple eggs every now and then just to empty the candy out of them. She was so proud of her collection. One mishap of the Easter gathering...Ellen's dog, Knox, ate all of the leftover ham! Ellen was quite disappointed.

Dress Up

Two weekends ago my parents came down, and my mom made Laura a couple of outfits. She loved prancing about in them. In fact this past Saturday she insisted on wearing the dress. I just put in on her and left some pants on underneath so that she could play outside.

This past weekend Matt and his brother have been busy building a shed in our backyard. It was a nice weekend to do it, except we're supposed to get snow today! :( I thought we were done with this...

CONGRATS Michelle and Jeff on your new little peapod!

Spring is here!!

I need to change our background. Spring is finally here! On Saturday there were numerous kids playing outside on our block. Our neighbors have six or seven kids, and then a couple houses down there are two more. Anyway they were all outside playing, and Laura desperately wanted to take part in the fun. She is quite the social butterfly. Well, Matt decided to help her join in the fun. So he started tossing a football with a few of the kids, and in between every few tosses he let her hold the ball and throw it. She was absolutely thrilled! It was so cute! What a great weekend...

Getting Big

This is a pic from Grandma's birthday party last weekend. Pictured are me, Ellen, Laura, and my cousin, Jessica. I couldn't believe how big Laura is getting. She looks tall in this picture!

I hope everyone enjoyed the warm weather. We went outside on Sunday, and Laura ran around the yard like she owned the place! One funny story.... On Saturday we put her in her marching band outfit to get some pics before she grows out of it. Well she loved wearing it, and Matt and I were showing her how to march. She was so cute. She would stomp up and down really fast trying to mimic us. It was adorable! I took a video on my phone, but I haven't figured out how to post it. I'll have to work on that...

Kitchen

Yay!, my kitchen is done! We got new cabinets and a counter top. It is so much better! Our cabinets were horrible. They were falling apart and all chewed up from the previous owners. I love my new ones! Matt's brother built them. If you can't tell from the pictures, they are cherry cabinets, and we have a black counter top now. We got a new sink too, but I didn't take a picture of it. Matt's brother and his family came over yesterday, and Matt made ribs on the grill. They were heavenly!

Ok. I have to tell you another story too. On Thursday night we were coming home from work. Matt and I drive together most days, so we were all in the car, This kid is turning left onto the road coming towards us, and he keeps turning. So he goes left of center and runs us off the road into this steep ditch. He slowed down and then kept driving away!!! We were practically on our side. Matt manages to get enough traction from the back to get us backed up. The kicker is the the cop wanted to cite Matt for failure to control since the other car drove away! Is that not total crap?! He didn't end up citing Matt, but I was so mad even at the thought. What were we supposed to do - let the guy hit us head on?! Crazy. Anyway, we were all safe, and that's what matters.

CONGRATULATIONS THRESS FAMILY!!

Congratulations Kara and Adam on their new addition, Sydney Addison! We went to see baby Sydney today. She was so perfect! She was so tiny too! I forgot how little newborns are. I'm used to lugging around my 30lb sack of potatoes! Sydney was so good the whole time we were there. Of course she took a poop when Matt held her, and his nose detected that immediately. Imagine that! She didn't even fuss when she had a dirty diaper. I was very proud of Laura too. She didn't fuss when Matt and I held Sydney, amazingly. We enjoyed meeting new Baby Thress.

Good Morning

Laura has been so happy in the mornings at school. Here is a pic of her eating her muffin at the table next to her friend, Abby. They were so stinkin' cute this morning!

Superbowl Sunday

Laura enjoyed the Superbowl tonight next to Daddy with her bowl of goldfish and her sippy. She was so cute. During the National Anthem, as Jennifer Hudson was getting towards the end, she started clapping.

It was a sports weekend. On Saturday she attended her first basketball game. We went to Ohio Wesleyan to watch Matt's cousin play. She loved watching all of the action. I think she liked the cheerleaders more than the basketball game, but she did really well. Another fun weekend...coming to an end.

Sick Sick Sick

This week has been HORRIBLE! We have been so sick. This is my first day back to work (I'm eating lunch :) ) All three of us have had the flu. Laura picked it up at daycare and passed it on to us. We just love daycare :( Her fever finally broke yesterday, after we already went to the dr, of course. And Matt and I are finally eating normal food again. My house is absolutely nasty. We are going to deep clean tomorrow. Matt is so excited! I informed him this morning on the ride to work. I hope I didn't give this to anyone at the shower over the weekend! It was so good to see you girls. Lisa, I loved your pictures and poem on your blog! Have a good weekend everyone!

Cousin Eddie??

This is Matt's Christmas hat from Laura. She picked it out.

Fun in the Snow

We have been busy the last couple of weeks. Laura is walking! She started walking the day she turned 14 months. It was like something just clicked, and she took off. Ever since then, we have been chasing her like crazy. Last weekend she got to take advantage of her sled that Matt (Santa) got her for Christmas. She loved it. She loved the snow - eating that is. Don't worry it was white, not yellow! We finally got our Christmas lights down last weekend too, since we were having a heat wave (27 degrees!) I'm ready for summer! Stay warm everyone!

Christmas with the Prochaskas

The day after Christmas my mom and dad hosted Christmas for my dad's side of the family. It was really great to see everyone. Matt made some awesome shrimp for appetizers. Everybody loved them! I was a little worried that this would be the third night in a row that Laura was going to be awake several hours past her bedtime. I thought that she might become unbearable. But to my surprise, she did really well and enjoyed the festivities all three nights. Of course she fell asleep the third night in my dad's arms! Well 24 is on, and I missed it the first time it aired this fall. They are replaying it tonight. I love 24!!! I can't wait to see the girls this weekend!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Our Christmas day was especially fun this year. Laura actually enjoyed tearing open all the paper and playing with her toys. We don't have any pics of her tearing paper at our house, but here is a pic of our Christmas tree. We do have pics of her enjoying the presents at the Prochaska/Wilson Christmas. We went to Bucyrus in the afternoon on Christmas day and had Christmas with the Prochaskas and the Wilsons. Laura is literally attached to her Grandpa Prochaska's hip. He is tops on her list! Here is a pic of our Christmas tree too.

Christmas Eve

WOW! I haven't posted since mid December! Well we had a great Christmas. I will probably post individual entries to tell about it. I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas as well. We started ours on Christmas Eve with the Adams side of the family. Matt's brother, Alan, and his family host the family Christmas party every year. It was a great time. Laura was afraid of Santa. Her cousin, Tammra, seemed to like Santa. I wonder who was on the Good List and who was on the Naughty List!! Here are a few pics from the evening.
