The girls gave us a concert earlier this evening. It was awesome. They got stools and positioned them in the middle of the living room. Then they sat there with their guitars and microphones and rehearsed for a while. Then Laura started yelling at me that it was showtime. They performed an original, "Tonight's the Night the Frostbite Won't Bite." I should have recorded it. They did a great job! Little Emma decided she would randomly dance. She decided after they were done she would perform too.
Emma has had a great week. She has not had any accidents, even at daycare. She seems to have mastered the potty. She is her normal independent, strong-willed toddler that most days pushes me to my max. But she is so sweet an instant later. We are going to try to move her to the big-kid bed with Hannah again this week. The first night was last night, and she did pretty well. But she was also pretty tired. So we'll see how tonight goes. She has been especially bad lately. For example, she knows when she gets in the van, she is not allowed to push the sliding door button. What does she do? She pushes the button. She was terrible at Mass last night too. She would not sit still for one second. We sit in the cry room, and she was up and down the aisle about fifty times. She climbs on chairs and throws toys and antagonizes her sisters. There was a family in front of us that had four little girls, and they were all so well behaved. They all knelt during the consecration, even the one that was about Emma's age! It was encouraging to me that at least it was possible! After Mass, we spoke to them for a couple minutes, and they actually have six girls (the two older were at a youth function). And we can barely keep our three from acting like complete hooligans! Ahh well! We'll just try again next week and hope for the best.
So I have my dinners planned for the week. Want to know what's on the menu? We had crock pot lasagna tonight, and it. was. awesome. I'm still stuffed two hours later. Here's where I found the recipe: http://creativechristianmama.
I read numerous blogs, usually on my feedly app on my phone. But if you are looking for some new blogs to read, look here. Bonnie hosts the Sheenazing Awards every year. Most of these blogs are mommy bloggers or Catholic bloggers or both. There are some great blogs in these lists. I also read some food blogs, one of which you can find here and Sophie's blog, which is just hilarious. Then of course there are the typical news outlets, to which I don't think I need to direct you, or at least I hope not!
Have a good week All! Time for halftime. I don't have high expectations.
