I'm so glad. I didn't feel this way about it last year, but this year was particularly painful, for a variety of reasons. But let's focus on some of the fun and good things that happened over the last month and a half.
We went to Disney on Ice in February, compliments of Aunt Lisa. Thank you! We had so much fun. Emma sat on Grammy's lap, and was enchanted by the whole experience. Her favorite part of course was when all the evil witches came out on the ice. Go figure. She screeched with joy, "Mawificent!" The girls all kept track of the princesses and accounted for those that were missing. So funny. Disney, you are a marketing mastermind.
We also celebrated Hannah's birthday in February. (And her God families' birthdays :)) Hannah's birthday fell on a Friday, so we had the family in on Friday night and had pizzas and cupcakes. Hannah requested Brave cupcakes. So Brave cupcakes she had. I ordered them from Kroger, and they were yum! She also requested that we bring up the puppet theater. She always has Laura and Emma do the puppet show, and she prefers to handle tickets and popcorn sales. Then the next day we went to Sophia's birthday party, which was Monster High themed. Hannah loves Monster High, and the girls had a blast. Hannah's Godfather, Dom, his daughter, Sophia, and Hannah share a birthday. Kinda cool. So in all, it was a fun birthday weekend. I asked Hannah this morning what was her favorite part about her birthday, and she responded, "My cupcakes and playing with my family and friends." What a sweet kid.

The next weekend Mom and I attended the Columbus Catholic Women's Conference. It was a great day, with several fantastic speakers. A highlight for me was meeting Jennifer Fulwiler. (Thank you Jen Vance, for the photo op!) I followed her blog several years ago, and I've read her book, Something Other Than God. Now she has a daily show on Sirius XM. She's so real and inspiring. Find her blog at http://jenniferfulwiler.com/
I also got to visit with my friend, Beth, which is always a treat and unfortunately rare. Her girls are about the same age as my girls, and we live in the same city. But our lives are so busy that sadly, we just don't see each other often. Maybe when we are older and our kids are grown up, we will see our friends again. Then we will probably be sad we don't see our kids enough!
Speaking of friends, last weekend was a treat! I went to Bucyrus to my dear friend, Dawn's baby shower. She is expecting a little boy next month. I'm so excited for her! She's about to start the best and hardest experience of her life. It was great to see her and my other girlfriends. I took Laura and Hannah with me. And they enjoyed playing (and running) with Beth's girls.

This weekend we surprised the girls and took them to see Zootopia. They loved it. Emma even did pretty well in the theater. It's always a crap shoot with her. The movie was cute too. We went to mass after the movie, and Emma was terrible there. So we knew her good behavior couldn't last forever. She fell asleep on the way home and slept the rest of the night.
I've missed so many of Emma's cute quotes. I really need to write them down. She's almost four, and she's getting so big. She's growing out of her little, cute toddler body and turning into a little girl. :( She's still extremely strong willed, but she's also creative and sweet. She always tells us these elaborate stories, that usually involve a witch of some sort, and always lots of drama. The more drama the better. She's still obsessed with Sophia the First. She watches it constantly.

In the mean time, my Laura is growing out of little girl and into a big girl. Again :( She's reading all kinds of books and liking different things. She's still obsessed with art though. She has started an art class in her after school program. She has a lesson plan, and she grades their papers, which are whatever drawing she is teaching them that day. She teaches the kindergartners. It's hilarious.
As for Matt and me, we're doing fairly well. Matt's crazy busy at work. I'm crazy busy at work. We have a Disney vacation booked that we need to plan. I think I understand - finally - how I need to go about it. Now we just need to commit time to do it. I think some people like this sort of thing. Not me. Ugg. We'll get around to it. I've also been struggling with back issues. I have an appointment with a specialist soon, so hopefully I will have some answers and a plan of action soon.
Well that pretty much wraps up our last six weeks. Here's some Valentine's Day pics too, since you haven't seen enough pics yet.
Oh, I almost forgot. We also had a Downton Dinner Party. It was awesome! I'm so sad that Downton Abbey is over. It was a great show. I am glad that the last episode tied up all of the loose ends into pretty little bows. That's how I like shows to end. Thank goodness we still have the Walking Dead on Sunday nights. Small pleasures...
